[There's also a video! Idols shoot "I-chan"! Close report on the studio photo session of Luce Fukasawa Saki and Sakimoto Miura, who aim to be the best camera girls in the idol world!

A photography club was started by Saki Fukazawa (manager) and Mio Sakimoto (club member), camera-loving members of the five-member idol unit "Luce Twinkle Wink☆," which aims to bridge the gap between idols and anime! To become the strongest camera girls in the idol world, the two go out to various places to take pictures and upload their activities on YouTube.

In this third video, "Portraits in the Studio," Akiba Research Institute was invited to participate as a reporter and advisor. As it was a portrait session, Saori Itayama, a member of the group, appeared as a model, as she did in the second session, a portrait in a park! Itayama-san is rumored to be a regular, but how will the two of you photograph her? Please enjoy the video and the movie that is now on view!

The rule of the shoot was to shoot three 10-minute takes in turns. The two were very different in type: Mr. Fukasawa, the director of the curtain production, went for the ultimate curtain effect, and Mr. Sakimoto, who let his own inspiration take over and shot more and more. Incidentally, Fukazawa-san uses the Canon "EOS Kiss M" camera and Sakimoto-san uses the "EOS 5D Mark IV" camera. The former is an APS-C mirrorless camera and the latter a full-size SLR, so it will be interesting to see how the two cameras differ.

At the first turn, Mr. Fukasawa felt that he had spent a lot of time and trouble setting up the camera. I tried to create the effect of having small flowers and backlighting from the curtains, but she said her face was a little dark, so I used a reflector, but it didn't seem to make much difference. The studio itself was pure white and there was quite a bit of natural light, so we decided to shoot without a reflector after that.

Sakimoto-san, on the other hand, was already showing his aura of a photographer, using stuffed animals, instructing poses, and excitedly saying how "cute" they were, as if he was getting ideas from within himself. I personally thought it would be cute if I took a pull shot from the feel of the studio, but since I had created a back-to-back composition with the bear and took a pull shot, I had nothing to say.

In the second turn, Fukasawa-san continued to attack with the curtains, again using a pull. Since there were many camera-loving staff members around, she took the advice of (1) not shooting too much from above and (2) communicating with the model, and gradually seemed to be able to take pictures that felt right.

Mr. Sakimoto, perhaps having his own image in mind, took a picture of Ms. Itayama standing like a mannequin next to the costumes on the trousseau. This idea was also very interesting!

For the third turn, Ms. Fukazawa challenged herself to get Ms. Itayama to move and take a shot of her hair fluffed up. I set the shutter speed a little faster and aimed from a distance. I asked her to make the same movement and try to get the best shot, but sometimes the shutter doesn't release ....... It may be important to master the settings and controls in this area. However, after taking some shots, Itayama-san's movement was so good that I advised him, "Let's get closer! I gave him some advice, and he started getting good shots, and then the perverted photographer Fukasawa was born! (Laughter)
At that time, for some reason, the scene of Hanamichi Sakuragi's "He was knocked out" when he confronted his brother Kawada at the Sanno Kogyo match in "Slam Dunk" popped into my mind, so I quietly watched the rest of the scene.

And finally, Mr. Sakimoto. I thought it was a very interesting idea to start shooting on the theme of "despair," but I decided that the surrounding white was a little too bright and didn't give off the feeling of despair very well. From there, I switched to shooting happy smiling faces, but my time was up. Personally, I wanted to see a cut of Itayama-san's "despair" expression, with his sharp eyes surrounded by light. Incidentally, I think it was wonderful that Sakimoto-san used an 85mm single-focal length lens at the beginning and a 50mm single-focal length lens at the end, while moving around and sometimes lying down to find a good composition by himself.

What I also noticed was that both of them were shooting in live view without looking through the viewfinder. Whether to shoot through the viewfinder or not. I don't know which is better, but the fact that they dared to shoot without looking through the viewfinder made me feel that it was because they are from the smartphone generation.

Incidentally, a poll is currently being held on the official Twitter to decide which of the two photos taken by the two photographers is better!
We hope you will join us.

After the photo shoot...
How was today's shoot?

Fukazawa: Normally, I shoot the way I like without knowing how to shoot at all, but you gave me a lot of advice and made me realize that I should shoot in this way. I often take pictures with the composition in the center, but I was told that I should take pictures with the composition shifted, so I was able to take a variety of pictures, and I think I gained a lot of variation in one day. It was fun!

Sakimoto: This was our third studio shoot and our first, but with the stuffed animals, torsos, and accessories, I think we were able to capture a different atmosphere and cuter pictures than before. It was interesting that when I used a different lens than usual, the photos were totally different from the ones I had taken before. We will continue the photo club in the 4th and 5th sessions, so I hope to update more and more wonderful photos.

Q: How did you decide on the theme, such as "despair"?

Sakimoto: On the spot. I knew it was a white studio today, so I thought I would definitely take cute pictures, but when I saw the flowers, I wanted to see their faces of despair, so I decided on the spot.

Q: Itayama-san, how did you feel when you were photographed as a model?

Itayama: Last time we shot outside, so I enjoyed shooting with natural light, flowers, and other natural things. This time it was a studio shoot, but the two of them gave me precise instructions, so it was very easy to do. They also told me how cute I was, so I think they were able to capture my natural smile!
