[Great verification on the Switch! The Legendary Backstage Challenge! Vol.6] If you look closely, you'll see a beautiful girl hiding in the room! The Mystery of the Atlantis" is solved!

Nintendo Switch Online, a paid service for Nintendo Switch, is currently offering "Family Computer Nintendo Switch Online," where you can enjoy nostalgic NES titles to your heart's content!

On February 19, 2020, four new titles and four new games were added to "Nintendo Switch Online".

From the NES titles, "Mystery of Atlantis" (Sunsoft) and "God Suit," which many people said was unexpected! (Sunsoft) and "God Slayer: Haruka Tengoku no Sonata" (SNK) from the NES titles. And from the SNES titles, "Breath of Fire II: Child of the Mission" (Capcom) and "Pop'n Twinbee" (Konami) have been added to the list.

In this issue, from among these four titles, we will introduce the ultimate backstory of the "Mystery of Atlantis," which is popular in "many" ways, as well as a story that will surely make you think, "I never thought of that idea! Here are some stories that you will surely think, "I never thought of that!

Definition of subterfuge

Back in the 1980s, when the search for subterfuge was popular, extreme tricks such as inserting a cassette in the wrong way or short-circuiting peripheral terminals with metal appeared, but for the time being, this series of articles will define subterfuge as "inserting a cassette, starting the game normally, and waking it up by simply operating the controller. However, for the time being, this series will treat as a backstage trick those that can be "started normally by inserting a cassette and operating the controller.

The shortest way to clear "The Mystery of the Atlantis" and how to get to the last hidden side, "The Nagoya Side.

The "Mystery of the Atlantis" stages are so intricately connected that many players have suffered from not being able to find the correct route. To be honest, although there were many children who owned "Mystery of the Atlantis" when I was a boy, I don't recall ever hearing of anyone having seen the ending. It was such a difficult game.

This time, for those of you who were "kids who couldn't clear the game," I would like to introduce the shortest route to clear "Mystery of the Atlantis" and how to get to the so-called "Nagoya Plane," which is more fascinating than the ending.

Let's start with the shortest route to clear "Mystery of the Atlantis".

Incidentally, the Switch version of the game has a special feature called "Rewind" (press and hold the ZL + ZR buttons at any time to rewind time a little!) ), so if you make full use of this feature, you can capture the game quite easily. It's not fair! I know some of you may think this is unfair, but let's use the functions that are available!

First, start normally and go right for a while. The first entrance is "do not enter" and go through.

Open this door with "Bon" (a small bomb thrown by the main character, Winn) and go to "Zone 11.

When Zone 11 starts, throw Bon at your feet at the treasure chest position just to the right, and go to the self-destruct warp ....... The self-destruct warp is, in other words, a unique strategy in this work where you warp by getting caught in a bon explosion and blowing yourself up. I don't understand this! Then go to "Zone 52.

At Zone 52, keep going to the left and throw a bomb at this location to warp to self-destruct again. Then, go to "Zone 91.

At Zone 91, a "pothole" drops from the top of the screen, and you enter a door, and then go to "Zone 95"!

At zone 95, go to the right and enter the door and go to "zone 93. 95 to 93. ...... is "not back"? Don't worry. That's all right. That's how the game is played.

At first glance, Zone 93 seems like a dead end. But if you hit the door at this point, a hidden door will appear. Hit the door again to enter. Then, go to "Zone 96.

In Zone 96, you have to keep going to the right. The time limit is quite tight, so keep up the tempo! By the way, you have to hit the mummy with 3 bombs to defeat it. Then, enter this door and go to "Zone 98.

Zone 98 is a stage in which you move to the left, jumping over the buildings as shown here. If you fall down, use the special "rewind" to start over!

Enter this door at the far left to go to "Zone 99! The climax of the game is approaching!

Zone 99 is toward the left, but there is a hidden door at this position, so you have to use Bon to make it appear and then go to warp! Finally, we are in the "Final Zone"!

In the Final Zone, many Demon King Zavira are "installed" and attack with tremendous force. To be honest, it is quite difficult to pass through this zone without items, but this zone has a special "rewind" function. Use it as much as you can!

The game is cleared when you touch the treasure.

Incidentally, Gombe, a character from "Ikki" (also from Sunsoft), was waiting for him at the goal for some reason. With this, Winn had achieved his goal of rescuing the master. Congratulations, congratulations!

The mystery of NAGOYA!

But here comes the main point!

Let me introduce you to the mysteries of "The Mystery of Atlantis.

First, after clearing the final zone (technically, you can go there without clearing the final zone), return to "Zone 99" from the entrance of the final stage.

In Zone 99, go to the right and enter this door straightforwardly. Then go to "Zone 6."

In Zone 6, go left and enter this door. Then go to "Zone 8

Zone 8 is to the right, but the time limit is very tight, so ignore the enemies and hurry up. Enter this door and go to "Zone 10.

I would like to say that Zone 10 is to the right at ......, but there is a hidden door at the start of the zone. If you enter here, you will go to "Zone 8" again.

But what's the surface structure of "Mystery of Atlantis"? ......

Zone 8 goes right for a while and then you enter this door. Ahead is "Zone 20," the biggest mystery of all.

As soon as you go to the right, you will see three moai. And you can see the mysterious keyword "NAGOYA". Nagoya? Nagoya?

Here is the answer to the "mystery. (If you don't want to see it, please skip to the bottom.)

As shown in the picture, "get on top of each moai's head" (this is very difficult to do, but .......) and throw a bong 7, 5, or 8 times, respectively.

If nothing happens, try again and again, either by rewinding or saving!

Then suddenly, you will warp to the "second final zone (?)"! Warp to the "Second Final Zone (?)"! Zavira the Demon King (?) If you pass under the Demon King Zavira (?), for some reason, "4 million points" will be added to your score.

Is this the mystery of the "Mystery of Atlantis"? The mystery only gets deeper and deeper. ......

This is a well-known trick among those who are familiar with retro games, but in this series of articles, we will go one step deeper!

Is the last boss actually a beautiful girl?

In the final zone of "Mystery of the Atlantis," only a few faces of the demon king Zavira appear. And in the second final zone, a different-colored Demon King Zavira appears, but this different-colored Zavira had a terrible secret (?)! This is the normal Demon King Zavira!

This is the normal Demon King Zavira.

And here is the Demon King Zavira of the second Final Zone

What? What's the difference? I think most of you might be asking, so let's get a little closer. And if you turn it over 180°, you will see .......

Do you get the idea? When you turn it over, the face of a scary demon king or an old man is transformed into a beautiful Chinese girl!

If you combine it with the illustration of "Illustration Ya-san" and put in the eyes, you can see ...... that she is quite a beautiful girl!

This was the last mystery of "The Mystery of Atlantis"!

What do you think? Games can be played in so many different ways just by changing the angle a little bit. Next time, we will continue to introduce some nostalgic and shocking tricks. Please look forward to it!
